Solid features, minor improvements

I recently used V2Fun for a batch of 3D Game Assets and the results were largely positive. The AI Retopology saved me a lot of time, and the FBX Export worked without any hitches, which is always a plus. I also appreciated the Real-time 3D Preview. My only minor gripe was that the Mesh Generation sometimes needed a bit more tweaking than I expected. Not a deal-breaker, just something that could be refined a bit more in future updates. Overall, a useful tool for getting projects done.

So much fun!

I tried the AI 3D Model Generator and it was incredible! The models came out exactly how I imagined, and it was so easy to use. I'm definitely going to use V2Fun again for my next project and tell all my friends about it!

Good value for credits

As a first-time buyer, I was looking to get the most out of my purchase. I opted for a larger credit pack, which brought down the per-credit cost significantly. I used it for a mix of AI Texture Generation and a couple of character animations. The quality for the price felt good, especially compared to some other platforms I've seen. It was worth buying the bigger pack upfront to save some money.

Easy to get started

I was just messing around with some ideas and decided to try V2Fun. I used the Video-Driven 3D Character Animation for a short clip and it worked pretty well. It took a little bit to upload my video, but once it processed, the animation looked smooth. It was straightforward, nothing too complicated. I might try generating some PBR Materials next time I need something.

Just renewed my V2Fun subscription and the price was higher than last year. Is there a renewal offer I missed or did they just increase prices across the board?

P PoojaR 2 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
Mine went up too. I think if you got an early bird or promo rate initially, it reverts to the standard annual plan price after the first year. Happened to me on another service recently.

Pretty standard practice these days.

Ah, that makes sense. I did get a pretty good deal when I first signed up.

You can always check their 'Known Deals' section or contact support. Sometimes there are specific renewal codes if you ask, especially if you've been a loyal customer.

I got a credit pack discount recently, not a full annual plan renewal though. Maybe they're pushing those instead?

Finally trying V2Fun's motion capture. Got the webcam working but the animations look a bit stiff, especially for quick movements. Anyone else experience this or have tips?

S Sneha 1 month ago
Following. Been thinking about getting into motion capture for my character animations and this was a concern.

Same here.

Yeah, I found that too initially. Make sure your lighting is super consistent and you're not wearing super baggy clothes. Also, check the calibration carefully, that made a big difference for me.

Good point on the clothes. I was just in a hoodie.

Lighting is key for sure.

Mine was actually pretty good from the start. What kind of webcam are you using? Maybe it's a resolution/frame rate thing.

D Deepak87 1 month ago
Could be. Some cams struggle with faster movements.

Just a standard Logitech C920. Supposed to be compatible.

hey, was thinking of trying V2Fun. is it actually any good? like, for game stuff?

C Colin E. 1 month ago
Yeah, I've used it for a few assets in my indie project. The AI retopology and mesh generation is pretty solid for getting a base.

It's decent. For professional game dev, you'll still probably want to tweak things a lot, but it speeds up the initial blockout phase for sure. Export options are good too.

Trying to decide between V2Fun and Meshy. Anyone have experience with both for 3D textures and models?

C Cody V. 1 month ago
V2Fun feels a bit more robust for animation stuff if you're doing characters. Meshy is good for quick static props.

P Paula 1 month ago
I found V2Fun's texture generation to be a bit higher fidelity for PBR materials, but Meshy is sometimes faster for very simple stuff. Depends on your priorities.

How long does it usually take for models to generate? I need something kinda quick for a presentation.

E Elena L. 2 months ago
Depends on the complexity you ask for, but generally, it's pretty fast. Minutes, not hours.
2
J James 2 months ago
Yeah, I did a few simple props last week and they were ready in like 5-10 minutes. More complex character stuff might take a bit longer but still pretty quick.

Anyone know if there's a free trial or something to test it out before I commit to a sub?

P Phil 1 month ago
Pretty sure they have free credits when you sign up. Enough to mess around with a few basic generations.

I Ivy Ito 1 month ago
Yeah, check their site. I think there's a free trial option or at least a way to get some free credits to play around with the tools.

Where do I even put a discount code? I got one for an annual plan but can't find the spot.

R Rosa Carter 2 months ago
It's usually during checkout when you're picking your subscription tier or credit pack.

T Tom 2 months ago
Yeah, once you select your plan or the credit amount, there should be an input field for a promo code before you finalize the purchase. Don't worry if you don't see it right away, it pops up eventually.

Is the AI motion capture compatible with just a regular webcam? Or do I need some fancy gear?

D Dana A. 2 months ago
I'm pretty sure it works with standard webcams. That's what I've been using.

M Megan Beaumont 2 months ago
From what I remember, you can use a regular webcam. It's one of their selling points, makes it super accessible.
